Livonia's 'Music From the Heart' Summer Concert Series Returns with Relic Performance

A free Thursday-night concert series is underway on Livonia's City Hall lawn, where residents can gather from 7 to 9 p.m. without admission or registration fees. Relic performed on July 9 and The Shawn Riley Band on July 16, launching the 2026 Music From the Heart series, with five more free concerts scheduled through Aug. 20 at 33000 Civic Center Drive. The Livonia Arts Commission and Livonia Parks and Recreation Department sponsor the series.

The seven-week lineup continues with Air Margaritaville on July 23, Ultrasonik on July 30, Lazo & Exodus on Aug. 6, Joyriders on Aug. 13, and 20 Hour Ride on Aug. 20. All concerts are weather-dependent; the city directs residents to check Livonia.gov for updates or call the Parks and Recreation Weather Hotline at (734) 466-2299 for cancellation information.

Livonia Parks and Recreation also offers the Summer Fun Concert Series, featuring free children's concerts every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Stymelski Veterans Park from July 7 through Aug. 18. Those performances are funded in part by Michigan Humanities, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The co-sponsorship by the Arts Commission and Parks and Recreation signals a city commitment to accessible cultural programming, and the no-cost, no-registration format lowers barriers for families managing discretionary spending. The city has not released attendance figures or budget details that would show how this season compares to prior years.
